What's that Monument?

Many people from other countries may not be able to understand the monuments in our country. One, for instance, is the Lincoln Monument in Washington D.C.. The Lincoln Monument is a huge statue of the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, sitting in a chair. People who do not know who he is or what he did may wonder, "Who's that big guy in the chair?". He is a very famous person to us for his accomplishments. He freed the slaves in the southern confederacy on April 6, 1861. That was a big deal for our country as it was a sign of equality between African-Americans and Caucasians.
